Single Sign-On Installation

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows a user to log in once and then use multiple applications or systems without needing to log in again for each one. This implementation supports Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) as the identity provider.

Limitations

The following limitations apply when using Analysis Services with Single Sign-On (SSO). Because Anonymous Authentication is used for web access, some pages are unavailable and certain functionalities are restricted.

Please take note of the following limitations:

  • Roles Page is hidden. Assigning roles to specific users and groups is not available. Thus, all loaded and processed data is accessible to all users in the License Monitor Portal, Dashboard and Analysis page.
  • Mapping Sources page only works in the local machine. If the Analysis Server is installed on a cloud instance, the mapping sources to be configured must also reside on that same cloud instance machine.
  • Access to Reporting Services (Home and Reporting) requires the Service Account credentials. Accessing the SSRS template will prompt for credentials that have access to the SSRS web portal.
