Post-Migration Procedures

This page provides instructions on what to do after a successful software migration. To apply the updates in the Core Client setup, follow the sequence of procedures.

Reapplying Core Client Configurations

Follow these steps to migrate from the old Core Client to the new version:

  1. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\Configuration folder in the backup client directory. Identify and review all customizations made to the configuration files in this folder.

    note

Customizations may vary based on your specific setup.

  2. Apply the customizations found in the old client configuration files to the corresponding files in the new client.

  3. Copy the bookmarks of log-based collectors in C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\Log\temp from the old client to the new client installation directory.

    note

Bookmarks have the timestamp of the last collection done on the logfiles. Copying the bookmarks will avoid previous logfiles (before the timestamp) to be recollected. Incorrect management of non-Flex-based (flex log) log file collections may cause data doubling.

For any other custom configurations, scripts, or binaries deployed in your previous setup, feel free to reach out to the Open iT Support Team at support@openit.com for assistance in integrating the changes into your migrated software.
