Replacing the Client Installers in an Existing Core Server

This guide provides a general procedure for replacing or updating Core Client installer files on an existing Core Server.

You can follow these steps when you need to manually update the client installers without performing a full server upgrade.

warning

Apply the configurations shown in the Open iT Core Server.

  1. Download the required Core Client installers for the desired release version.

  2. Rename the downloaded files to match the client filenames expected by the Core Server.

    For example:

    • openit_10_2_571_client_windows_x64.msi to openit_client_windows_x64.msi
    • openit_10_2_571_client_windows_x86.msi to openit_client_windows_x86.msi
    • openit_10_2_571_client_linux_x86_64.tar to openit_client_linux_x86_64.tar
    • openit_10_2_500_client_mac_x64.pkg to openit_client_mac_x64.pkg

  3. Open the <install_dir>\ReportingServer\html\downloads directory, which is by default in C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\ReportingServer\html\downloads.

note

Run the following command in the Command Prompt to locate the installation directory:

Command Syntax
reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpeniT\Installation" /v InstallDir
  1. Copy the renamed installer files to the downloads directory and overwrite the existing files when prompted.

    c. Download or install the client installer.
